Our National Parks are “America’s best idea.”  Well here’s an even better one:  Free Admission!

Free Admission

Every year, the National Parks Service offers free admission to all National Parks on select days.  It’s a great idea to help get Americans outdoors.

Make sure to take advantage of the fee-free days this year.  It’s a chance to enjoy our country’s natural beauty without emptying your wallet.

So if you’ve been hankering for a road trip, now’s your chance to be dazzled by some of America’s most beautiful wild country!

The free days for the remainder of the year are April 20, August 25, September 28, and November 11.

I’ve been going to Pinnacles National Park to hike through the bat caves and look for California Condors.  But this year I’m thinking of Yosemite, or Lassen Volcanic National Park.  All are in northern California, not far from my home.

What a Bargain!

So take advantage of “America’s best idea” during free admission days.  Besides free admission, the Park Service is throwing in complementary sunshine, fresh air, beautiful views, and amazing animals.  What a bargain!

Do you plan to visit a National Park this year?  Let me know which one in the comments below.

    Hi…. Lassen Volcanic National Park

    • Steve says:

Lassen is a great choice, Lavonia! It’s an under-visited park with all three types of volcanoes: composite, shield, and dome. The Bumpass Hell Hydrothermal Area is the closest thing to Yellowstone I’ve seen in California.
