We can all use a good laugh.  So I want to take a break from our “serious” articles on nature and bushcraft to highlight the winners of the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards.

About the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards

Wildlife photographer Paul Joynson-Hicks MBE was looking through his photographs when he came across several that made him laugh.  He realized that humorous nature photographs were an entertaining means to engage people and inform them about the threats facing wild animals.

A funny animal photo is incredibly effective because there are no barriers to understanding, and they help people anthropomorphize wild animals.  These pictures tap into human empathy, which we need to tackle the problems facing our animal companions on this planet.

The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards has grown into a global competition.  Novice and expert photographers can enter up to 10 images.  And entry is free.
