Who doesn’t like a bargain?  And free is the best bargain of all!

Free Admission April 16 – 24

National Parks Week is April 16 to 24.  To celebrate, the Park Service is offering free admission to all our national parks.  So if you’ve been hankering for a road trip, now’s your chance to be dazzled by some of America’s most beautiful wild country!

April is a slow time in many parks.  So it can be a great time to visit.  I’m headed to Pinnacles National Park to hike through the bat caves and look for California Condors.   Pinnacles is our newest National Park.  It’s been many years since I was there and I’m looking forward to seeing its breathtaking spires.

More Free Admission to Come

Did you know the National Park Service turns 100 years old in 2016?  I had no idea!

To commemorate the anniversary, there are 16 free admission days in ’16.  Here is the schedule for the year:

So take advantage of “America’s best idea” during the free admission days.  Besides free admission, the Park Service will also throw in complementary sunshine, fresh air, and beautiful views.  What a bargain!
